Q. What are ark’s office hours?
A. As of AUGUST 8, 2023, our office hours are:
Monday thru Friday 7AM till 5PM
Saturday & Sunday CLOSED
Q. i have an inside pet. why do I need heart worm prevention?
A. Dr. Anna Maxwell advises that all pets remain active on heart worm prevention. One mosquito bite can transmit heart worm disease to your indoor pet.
Q. how often do i need to bathe my dog?
A. Dr. Maxwell says there’s not hard and fast rule for when to bathe your pets. It depends on their activity level and whether they are indoors most of the time or if they spend a lot of time outdoors.
Q. which breed of dog should i get
A. According to Dr. Maxwell, the right breed will differ depending on your activity level and family lifestyle.
Q. My dog is itchy. Can i give a it an over-the-counter antihistamine?
A. Dr. Maxwell advises that although it may be okay to administer a small amount of over-the-counter antihistamines for occasional itchiness (dosage should be based on the weight of the dog) clients should exercise extreme caution and be sure that the itchiness is not being caused by a more serious skin allergy. It’s always best to seek the care of your veterinarian before administering any medicines to your pet. View the video above for her best advice on this situation.

A. Frequent grooming is the best way to control your pet’s shedding, according to Dr,. Maxwell. Watch the video for additional advice.
